About Me
I am a freelance musician and private lesson teacher based in Chicago, Illinois. My primary playing is in the classical style but my enjoyment for performing stems to all styles. Recently I have performed as second trumpet with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra and Champaign Urbana based band Sun Stereo. I have also appeared with the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra, the Springfield Chorus Society, Transit Brass, the Iron Post Jazz Band, Timbalu, the Everyone Orchestra, Sycamore Brass Quintet, Aduro Brass, and the Little Theatre on the Square Pit Orchestra.
I completed my bachelor's degree in Instrumental Performance and my master's degree in Instrumental performance & Literature at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. My primary professors were Ronald Romm and Charles Daval. Under them I learned the performance practices of the standard trumpet solo repertoire as well as the orchestral trumpet literature. During my studies I performed with almost every school ensemble as well as local bands and orchestras in central Illinois. During the summers between school semesters I performed with the Opera Maya music Festival in the Riviera Maya Mexico and with the Miami Summer Music Festival. My time at the Miami Music Festival was special because I was able to study under Vincent Penzarella, former member of the New York Philharmonic.
There is no greater feeling for me than to bring joy and excitement to the listener. I look forward to continuing this pursuit and hope to play for you soon!
